Ann Kelley Boice, Class of 1950
Educator, Advocate for Children’s Rights and Community Leader

Ann Attended Pomona College 1950-52 and graduated in Education from the U of A in 1953. Ann taught in a rural two-room school at Sopori for two years while a ranch wife in Arivaca. After moving to Tucson, she taught kindergarten for 22 years at the Tucson Community School. Ann served as president of the Peter Howell PTA, the Tucson Association for Education of Young Children, Casa de Los Niño’s Board of Directors, Junior League of Tucson, the College of Education Advisory Board at the U of A, and as chairwoman of the Tucson Women’s Commission.
She was also on the boards of Tucson Community School, the Assistance League of Tucson, and the Pima County Foster Care Review Board. Ann presently serves on the boards of Habitat for Humanity and First Steps Day Care Center. Honors include Tucson Woman of the Year 1970 and recipient of the University of Arizona Alumni Association Centennial Achievement and Medallion presented by the College of Education.
